In her new book, The Chosen Ones: Black Men and the Politics of Redemption, sociologist and feminist scholar Nikki Jones (Associate Professor of African American Studies, UC Berkeley) explores the compelling journey and struggle of a group of formerly incarcerated Black men living in San Francisco as they rebuild their lives and try to fit into their community and society.

Join us for a stimulating discussion between Professor Jones and Clarence Ford (Masters candidate, Goldman School of Public Policy, and Berkeley Underground Scholars Policy/Advocacy Coordinator).

This event is co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Law and Society, American Cultures Center, Berkeley Underground Scholars, and the Center for Race and Gender. Light refreshments will be served following the discussion.
