In this workshop Dr. Mica Estrada will describe evidence-based recommendations that can be applied in mentorship, classrooms, advising and to maintaining an inclusive institutional environment in which all students thrive.

Lessons from the Biology Scholars Program (BSP)

For more than 25 years, the Biology Scholars Program (BSP) has challenged ideas about who can succeed in science, by providing a supportive environment tailored to the needs of students from underresourced communities. The program has produced more than 3,500 biology graduates (80% URM)--many of whom have gone on to advanced study and/or successful careers in STEM-related fields.
