The Teaching Excellence Colloquium is a year-long program designed for faculty new to Berkeley. For invited participants only.
The Teaching Excellence Colloquium (TEC) is a year-long program, organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning for faculty new to Berkeley.
TEC provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to achieve Berkeley's high expectations for teaching excellence, while benefiting from becoming part of a cohort of new faculty peers with shared perspectives across many disciplines.
The colloquium kicks off with a daylong event, followed by monthly workshops emphasizing various aspects of teaching and learning at all levels. It offers faculty the unique opportunity to form small groups to explore a shared teaching interest and conduct peer observations of classroom teaching.
Faculty participants are also introduced to innovative teaching programs such as Berkeley's famous Freshman Seminars, Discovery Courses, Big Ideas courses, and our undergraduate research programs.
