This virtual workshop is for instructors preparing to teach their upcoming courses in a remote instruction format. How does remote instruction change how you will teach your course? In this virtual workshop we will discuss strategies for how to approach remote instruction, focusing on:

  • strategically using asynchronous and synchronous instruction methods;

  • demonstrating how to develop your bCourses site as your virtual classroom;

  • incorporating formative assessments into your course; and

  • building opportunities for student-to-student interaction.

This session will highlight topics that are covered with greater depth in the Remote Instruction Guide, a self-enrollment course available to all instructors on bCourses. It’s recommended that you join the guide and review it before the workshop.
