Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls

It’s artificial to assume learning happens only inside the classroom. Learning can and should happen 24/7, and research shows that when it is connected to people’s lives, it’s more beneficial, more robust, and ”stickier.”

So, how do we draw on environments outside the classroom walls and leverage them in service of our educational aims? How can we approach this thoughtfully, in ways that help us engage with our broader communities, transcend traditional academic boundaries, and foster deep learning? 

Join your Berkeley colleagues for an open, informal discussion. Hear from faculty who have each taken a different approach to this and share your own questions, ideas, and strategies.

Refreshments will be provided and participants are welcome to bring their lunch. Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
