Digital Tools for Curating, Creating, and Collaborating in bCourses

April 4, 2016, 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Open to:  Instructors Across Campus, GSIs, Academic Support Staff

Description:

Come learn about an exciting new suite of tools available within bCourses to all users starting Fall 2016! In this 90-minute workshop, participants will learn about the Collabosphere tools and how they are currently being used in UC Berkeley courses. During the first 30-minute session, a panel will discuss the technology and pedagogy behind the tools. The panel will also demo the tools, explain and demonstrate a variety of ways the tools are currently being used (WEd140AC).

In the second 30-minute session, participants will be able to sandbox the tools, and engage some activities with them. The panel will help support and guide use of the tools.

The final 30-minute session will be more of an open workshop space. The panel will field specific questions from participants about their courses and online needs, and provide some insight into how Collabosphere might be of use. Attendees who missed either of the earlier sessions can also be introduced to the tools and access the sandbox environment.

Represented at the workshop will be the ETS product development team and Greg Niemeyer, director of the Berkeley Center for New Media.
